Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress, best well-known for her films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a Masters in Fine Arts in Acting at the Tisch School for the Art New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in theater, film and TV. Her acting career began in the theater. Then she appeared on several television shows as well as independent and mainstream film. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Film. In 1995, she made her acting debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. The actress has appeared in Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In her film career she is most famous for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Her role as a regular in ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
